One man and one woman photographed for each nationality living in the Netherlands. Same studio. Same lighting. 196 nationalities. One powerful story.
The Netherlands is home to people from nearly every nation on earth. The People of the Netherlands project sets out to photograph them all — one portrait at a time, in the same studio, with the same lighting. No context. No costume. Just the person.
Participants may have Dutch nationality if they or their ancestors have roots elsewhere and migrated to the Netherlands. Every background, every story, one equal frame.
The completed collection will be published as a coffee table book. Progress updates appear on social media and on this page.
